So, you have a backup file, but you don't to know what that backup it is about, in other words you need to know what is saved inside.

Here we show you how to tell by simply looking at the file name:

backup-5.18.2011_18-46-23_cpaneluser.tar.gz

This is the format of a Full Backup file. It includes all your domains' content (including addon and subdomains), emails, and databases for the cPanel account it belongs from. You may have more than one cPanel accounts under your ChilliWeb hosting account if you have purchased more than one plan with us, in that case you need to back-up each cPanel account individually.

backup-domain.com-5-18-2011.tar.gz

This is the format of a Home Directory Backup file. It only includes all your domains' content (including addon and subdomains) from this specific cPanel account.

name.sql.gz

This is the format of a MySQL Backup file. It only includes the data of a single database. If you have more than one database, you may need to back-up each of them individually.

aliases-domain.com.gz

This is the format of a Email Forwarders backup file. It only includes the forwarders you created in this cPanel. This file does NOT include email sent or received.

filter-domain.com.gz

This is the format of a Email Filters backup file. It only includes the filters you created in this cPanel. This file does NOT include email sent or received.

Notes:

Where it says cpaneluser, read it with your cPanel user name.

Where it says domain.com, read it with your domain.com name.

You may have more than one cPanel accounts under your ChilliWeb hosting account if you have purchased more than one plan with us, in that case you need to back-up each cPanel account individually.
